The strip on clothes, which is so beloved in our time, popular and used by many in women’s clothing, was known even in the times of Ancient Egypt. Initially, the strip appeared on the ceramic products as an ornament, and later gradually moved to the decor of the fabric.

The large scarves that the pharaohs used as headgear were of cloth decorated in blue and gold stripes (“klaft-ushabti”). For example: in the clothes of soldiers stood out red stripes, the priests – blue, and the officials distinguished stripes were considered – yellow.

The strip, after Ancient Egypt, began to be used everywhere by many peoples and was used in different directions. An example is the ancient Phoenicians who used strips to decorate sails on ships. The ancient Slavs also used a strip, and it is interesting that it appeared in them for the sake of economy. As, it often happens, the creation of this pattern served as the end of the yarn for women – weavers, and to find the same was difficult, since the pestle was weaved using all the threads left after sewing. Over time, the striped pattern on the pestry clothes became intentional and forced out the necessity of its creation. Well, the geography of the strip began to expand and become more popular.

At the moment, three types of stripes are very popular:
1. The sea stripe. Especially used in summer women’s clothing. This strip is limited to a range of colors: blue with white, black with white and red.
2. Ombre. Lightweight silk fabric, which consists of a single stripe, which is formed by twisting weave threads.
3. Rye. Fabric with share strips that can be of different widths.

The most popular clothing of striped fabric is a vest. Many designers associate it with a refined and romantic French style – which is natural, because the sea and ships have always been perceived as a very romantic and attractive image. Only before, the vest was considered working clothes exclusively for sailors, but it so happened that the vest became popular with most ladies, which designers and designers used when they introduced this comfortable clothing into the women’s wardrobe. Thus, the vest practically became synonymous with French refinement. From all this we can conclude that it is necessary to combine this type of clothing with things that are thin and vulnerable, like the French style itself. But there is always the opportunity to choose and adapt it to your taste and style, choosing the right coloring and model.
