Socks are a very important piece of clothing that comes into contact with the body. After all, no matter how comfortable the shoes are, if the socks are of poor quality, then discomfort and problems with the feet will not force you to press for a long time. Regardless of the type of activity – tourism, picnic, sports or even just a walk in an urban setting – it is always important that your feet do not overheat, do not get cold and stay dry. In this regard, do not underestimate this important accessory like thermal socks.
Why exactly should you buy thermal socks and what is it all about? There is no such official concept as “thermosocks” in principle. But if you try to give a simple definition, then thermal socks are socks with breathable, thermal insulation and moisture-wicking properties. These properties are achieved using special materials – synthetic fibers, non-standard weaving yarns that create several layers of fabric. It is also important that the thermal socks are antibacterial. It is very convenient that such socks do not slip, do not rub, fit the leg tightly, are easy to wash and dry quickly. Such pleasure is, of course, more expensive than ordinary socks, but those who actively use thermal socks will confirm to you that it is worth it.
Thermal socks are categorized as “thermal underwear”. Their task is to provide maximum comfort for the feet throughout the day (and sometimes even at night) in the cold season. Our feet, and therefore us, are comfortable when they are dry, do not freeze and do not overheat. And thermal socks, with insulating, breathable and moisture-wicking properties, do an excellent job with this task. It doesn’t matter where they are put on – for sports, for a hike or picnic, for a walk in the park – they will come in handy everywhere and will help keep feet and toes from hypothermia.
What is the secret of these wonderful socks? Their unique properties are due to the special materials from which they are made. In general, these materials are composed of synthetic fibers, special weaves that create multiple layers of fabric. The materials for the thermosocks are different. Let’s consider the most famous ones.
Coolmax is 100% polyester. They have the property of quickly absorbing moisture released by the body and removing it outside, where it evaporates. Such thermal socks are capable of withstanding extremely active loads. Designed mainly for warm weather.
Polycolon is a material. Made from modified polypropylene fiber, they have excellent thermal properties and quickly wick moisture away from the body. Hypoallergenic, with antibacterial properties. Perfectly washable in a typewriter. Mostly calculated for warm climates.
Thermolite is a material. Keeps the legs from overheating and hypothermia. It has proven itself to be effective in changing weather and temperature. Accelerated removal of moisture from the body, excellent heat retention.
Polartec – has enhanced moisture-wicking properties. The top is made of nylon and the inner surface is made of velor pile. On the body, he is pleasant and comfortable.
