Elements of men’s clothing, after appearing in one of the collections of the Versace fashion house, become an undeniable trend in women’s fashion. These are both men’s trousers and shoes, however, most often in the women’s wardrobe you can see a jacket – the most relevant thing for warm days and cool off-season.
Jackets have become a full-fledged women’s clothing for a very long time, so there is nothing surprising in the fact that on the shelves in the women’s department of any large store you will find exactly women’s jackets. Their popularity is explained by the fact that they are appropriate not only in the office, but also at a party, an evening walk around the city, and so on. From jeans or dress pants to skirts and shorts, jackets go great with just about any non-sporty item, which formal jackets can’t do at all. It’s the same with shoes: you can choose something with heels, as well as ballet flats or moccasins.
The corsage is considered the prototype of the first women’s jacket. In the nineteenth century, the first ever business suit for women was sewn, which consisted of a skirt and this same corsage, which eventually turned into the jacket we all know. It was usually worn over a vest or blouse. Women liked this innovation, because it could also be worn for warmth, shelter from the wind and worn every day, changing only the clothes that were under it. Thanks to its convenience and versatility, fashion has forever fixed the jacket in the women’s wardrobe.
Over the years, the scheme for making jackets has changed, the assortment of styles and colors has been replenished. And now we can wear even a white, even a black or any other colored jacket. At the same time, it can be knitted, leather, denim, woolen, velvet, chiffon and so on. Crocheted or knitted products have become very fashionable, which add femininity and mystery to your image.
Types of jackets.
Like any women’s clothing, jackets are divided into several types: many of them are somewhat similar, others are radically different from their counterparts, which is very typical for women’s wardrobe.
The most common subspecies are cardigans – these are long jackets, almost to the knee, with several buttons or a belt. Very often, it is the cardigan that is knitted, without a collar and lapels. This is the most versatile look, as it will look equally good on both thin and full female figures.
Another variety is the so-called Hungarian – a model borrowed from the military, which, in its appearance, just resembles a military uniform. Usually, manufacturers decorate the product with braid and, in some models, even shoulder straps. Very often you can see girls in Hungarians with gold buttons and fringes. There are no color restrictions for this type of jacket.
Another model originating from the military uniform is the trench coat. It is always fitted and retains a graceful feminine silhouette, in some versions it can be decorated with braid, pockets and a turn-down collar.
Also very popular are the spencer jackets, which are a short jacket with long sleeves. Such a model barely covers the back or only reaches the waist, is performed in light and beige tones. It will look especially good on tall and long-legged, self-confident girls.
The Chanel jacket is rightfully considered the most elegant model, which, as the name implies, was first introduced to the world by the legendary Mademoiselle Coco. No wonder this amazing woman was famous for the fact that she could easily remake any men’s thing in a feminine manner, complementing it with a fluffy skirt or accessories. The product is a short jacket with long sleeves and a complete absence of a collar, and a thin contrasting braid is sewn on the sleeves and neckband.
