Cocktail dress: a delicious name for a wardrobe item!

Women can talk for hours about dresses, as men can talk about football. But there is only one football, and there can be (and should) many dresses, yes, and how many kinds. They attract, they attract eyes, and, by the way, they are special, unlike, for example, ballroom or evening parties. What are the differences? Oh, this is a very fine line, but interesting and even romantic!

A cocktail dress is a great (and recommended) outfit for small parties, and for going out to the club or on holiday with your girlfriends. What makes it special is its lightness, lack of severity, as, say, in most formal evening dresses.

No, no, do not think that evening cocktail dresses are ordinary “every day” attire. This is not true. Interesting details, a favorable emphasis on the benefits of a figure and women use it with skill!

The “right” cocktail dress!

Of course, Yves Saint Laurent was right when he argued that the main detail in the dress is the woman who wears it. But, nevertheless, I want to choose the right style, since even the most beautiful cocktail dresses may not fit the figure!

By the way, this is not at all difficult to do, since there are a lot of models, various fashionable ideas, and each representative of the fair sex, having visited a store of cocktail dresses, will be able to find the best option for herself, her figure!

A bit of history: this type of dress came into fashion in the 1920s in America. Because of the prohibition, which was then in force in the country, young people gathered for evenings in closed rooms. Girls preferred to wear short sleeveless dresses, the latter soon firmly entered the fashion world with the help of the great Coco Chanel.

How are things today? It is customary to wear them both at social events, and at conferences, negotiations, yes, and just for office work, this is a great option. However, the question remains: how do you choose the right stylish cocktail dresses?

• Bet on style.

One of the styles: on one side the shoulder is bare, or for example, a trend-hit – a bandeau dress – a great choice for summer parties. It all depends on your choice and imagination, and of the celebration that you are going to visit.

• Emphasis on materials.

It is worth paying close attention to the very material from which the dress is made. Chiffon and silk are the most popular, but if you want to achieve elegance, you should buy a dress from a more “noble” fabric – velvet, for example. The choice depends on the type of venue and event. You can even roughly estimate from the photo how a particular outfit “plays” depending on the environment. It is worth giving up dense fabrics if you think it will be hot.

• A few words about the length.

The length of the dress also varies. Maximum – 5 cm above the ankle. If you are the owner of slender legs, a shorter option will suit you, but you need to make sure that your skirt is not longer than the fingertips of your lowered hand, otherwise, because of this, many girls often feel constrained and insecure.

• Lightness and grace.

Do not forget that a fashionable cocktail dress should not interfere and hinder your movements, that is, it should not be clearly tight for your complexion, and the neckline should not be very deep. First of all, you should be comfortable so that you do not experience discomfort and even painful sensations, and the event itself does not turn into torment.

• Colors and accessories.

As for the color of the dress, it can be very diverse. Dark colors – slim down the figure, give a more austere look. On the world’s catwalks, you can often see cocktail dresses in delicate pastel shades, as well as classics (black and white) that are always in fashion.

When choosing an outfit, do not neglect accessories. The traditional option: a clutch bag and closed high-heeled shoes will completely complement your look, give it elegance and emphasize femininity. And the most important thing is to always be yourself, because it is you who decorate the dress, and not vice versa!
